During this off-season, the Washington Commanders reportedly agreed to terms with four external free agents focused on strengthening their defense. They also made key roster changes, including player cuts and extensions.

New Signings

  • K’Lavon Chaisson: A notable addition, Chaisson was signed early in free agency.
  • Odafe Oweh: The 27-year-old pass rush specialist signed a four-year contract worth $100 million. Oweh was originally the 31st overall pick in the 2021 draft and has recorded impressive stats, including 7.5 sacks for the Chargers in the 2025 season.
  • Leo Chenal: A talented linebacker, Chenal joined the team on a three-year deal worth $24.75 million. He carries two Super Bowl titles and has made significant contributions in Kansas City over his four-year tenure.
