Star of “Mormon Wives,” Mayci Neeley’s Baby Hospitalized with High Fever
Mayci Neeley, a star of the reality series “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” recently shared a concerning update about her eight-month-old daughter, Charli. The young child was hospitalized due to breathing issues and a high fever, highlighting the importance of parental instincts in critical situations.
Hospitalization Details
On March 12, 2023, Mayci revealed via Instagram Stories that her daughter’s hospitalization was prompted by a strong intuition she felt during a work meeting. Charli, born on July 26, 2022, exhibited symptoms that alarmed her mother. Mayci shared that while a nanny was watching Charli, she sensed something was wrong when she felt her daughter’s unusually high temperature.
- Charli’s temperature measured 102°F.
- Mayci noticed irregular contractions in Charli’s stomach as she breathed.
Following their pediatrician’s advice, Mayci and her husband, Jacob Neeley, took Charli to a local hospital that offered a suction clinic. Medical professionals diagnosed Charli with “wheezy” breathing and identified an ear infection.
Medical Treatment
The doctors administered antibiotics and steroids to treat Charli’s condition. Due to fluctuating oxygen levels, doctors decided that Charli should stay in the hospital overnight for monitoring. In her posts, Mayci expressed the overwhelming emotions she experienced during this stressful time.
“The anxiety & stress and sadness I felt was unreal,” Mayci wrote. However, she felt reassured when the doctors affirmed that her decision to seek medical help was the right one. After a night in the hospital, Charli was discharged with recommendations to use oxygen during her recovery.
Encouraging Parental Instincts
Mayci emphasized the importance of trusting one’s instincts as a parent. She reflected that she wasn’t fully aware of the severity of Charli’s condition until they reached the hospital. Grateful for her decision to take action, Mayci advised other parents to listen to their intuition.
“I honestly didn’t really realize how bad she was struggling until the hospital, so I’m so grateful we took her in,” she stated. Mayci also mentioned that she canceled a work trip to New York, which she sees as a fortunate coincidence linking to her daughter’s health scare.
Connection to Reality TV
Mayci’s latest posts coincided with the premiere of Season 4 of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” on Hulu. This season explores her adjustments to postpartum life and features promotions for her memoir, “Told You So.” Along with Charli, Mayci and Jacob are parents to two other children: Hudson, 9, and Harlow, 5.
Charli’s recovery marks a relief for the family, as Mayci reported that Charli smiled for the first time in days upon returning home. The situation serves as a poignant reminder of the significance of being vigilant when it comes to the health of young children.
