Darnell Mooney Joins the Giants Roster
The New York Giants are enhancing their offensive lineup by signing wide receiver Darnell Mooney. The agreement, confirmed by multiple sources, is a one-year deal with a maximum value of $10 million. This move adds another key target for Jaxson Dart, the Giants’ second-year quarterback.
Darnell Mooney’s Recent Career
Mooney was previously with the Atlanta Falcons but was released earlier this week. He has experienced fluctuations in his performance over the past two years. In the 2024 season, he recorded 64 receptions for 992 yards along with five touchdowns. However, his production declined in 2025, with only 32 catches for 443 yards and a single touchdown.
Before joining the Falcons, Mooney had a successful stint with the Chicago Bears. Over five seasons with the Bears, he amassed:
- 213 receptions
- 2,593 receiving yards
- 11 touchdowns
Giants’ Wide Receiver Group
Mooney joins a diverse receiving corps in New York. The Giants have also recently acquired tight end Isaiah Likely and wide receiver Calvin Austin. Returning players include:
- Malik Nabers
- Darius Slayton
- Isaiah Hodgins
- Theo Johnson
This strategic recruitment reflects the Giants’ commitment to bolstering their offense and supporting Jaxson Dart for the upcoming season.
