JoJo Levesque, the renowned singer and actress, is set to take the stage on Broadway this June. She will replace Lea Michele in the highly anticipated revival of the musical Chess. Levesque, who is known simply as JoJo, will start her performances at Broadway’s Imperial Theatre on Tuesday, June 23.

This casting news was officially announced by producers Tom Hulce, Robert Ahrens, and The Shubert Organization, in collaboration with Creative Partners Production. JoJo will join co-stars Aaron Tveit and Nicholas Christopher in this iconic musical.

About JoJo’s Career

JoJo is a multi-platinum artist famous for hits like “Leave (Get Out)” and “Too Little Too Late.” Her self-titled debut album was launched in 2004, followed by several successful projects. These include Mad Love (2016), Good To Know (2020), and Trying Not To Think About It (2021). In 2020, she earned a Grammy Award for the song “Say So,” collaborating with PJ Morton.

Broadway Experience

This isn’t Levesque’s first time on Broadway; she starred in Moulin Rouge! The Musical in 2023 and 2024. She also originated the role of Tess in Working Girl at La Jolla Playhouse.
