Victory+ lands Washington Spirit regional broadcast deal as free NWSL coverage expands
Victory+ is widening its women’s soccer footprint with a new regional broadcast partnership alongside the Washington Spirit, announced on March 20, 2025 (ET) in Washington, D. C. The deal brings live match coverage and exclusive club content to fans across the DMV through a free, fan-first sports streaming platform. The rollout begins tonight, Friday, March 20 (ET), with regional coverage of the Spirit’s first away match of the season at Racing Louisville FC.
Regional coverage begins tonight as Victory+ adds Spirit match windows
The Spirit said the partnership officially kicks off tonight, March 20 (ET), when Victory+ carries regional coverage of the club’s season-opening away match at Racing Louisville FC. The agreement also includes a forward slate: Victory+ is slated to deliver seven local Washington Spirit broadcasts throughout the 2026 season, giving DMV-area fans a consistent, no-cost option for following the club’s matches and related programming.
Beyond game broadcasts, the platform will also deliver exclusive club content, part of a broader push to package matches with supplemental coverage designed to keep fans engaged beyond the final whistle.
Officials: “Free, easily accessible” access and a creator-led content hub
Washington Spirit CEO Kim Stone framed the move as a practical shift for fans looking for straightforward access. “We’re thrilled to partner with Victory+ to give our fanbase a free, easily accessible way to access our matches and team content, ” Stone said. “There are going to be countless can’t-miss moments this year, and the regional broadcasts on Victory+ will assure that our fanbase can watch and follow the Spirit from wherever they are. ”
Katie Boes, Chief Content Officer at Victory+, cast the deal as part of a wider strategy to build long-term viewing habits around women’s sports. “Our partnership with the Washington Spirit reinforces our commitment to expanding access and fandom for women’s sports, ” Boes said. “By delivering these matches free to viewers alongside creator-led programming, we’re building a year-round destination for NWSL fandom. ”
As part of that programming approach, Victory+ said it offers a 360-degree fan experience through its NWSL Content Hub—an always-on destination pairing live matches with real-time storytelling and “live-react” creator-led coverage. The platform says creators get direct access to highlights as they happen, turning live plays into ongoing conversation.
National NWSL role and platform availability
In addition to the Spirit’s regional coverage, the platform also serves as a national broadcast partner for the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), delivering 57 national matches and serving as the exclusive home of NWSL Sunday Night Soccer, with pre-match coverage provided by CVS Health. The Spirit is slated to appear in nine of those marquee national windows, including four NWSL Sunday Night Soccer matches.
Victory+ is available for free on most major connected TVs and mobile streaming devices, including Android, Apple TV, Chromecast, Hisense, iOS, LG, Roku, Samsung, Vidaa, and Amazon FireTV. The Spirit described its coverage as reaching fans across the DMV, anchored by live matches and expanded team content.
What’s next
The immediate next step arrives tonight, March 20 (ET), as the Spirit’s away opener at Racing Louisville FC serves as the first regional showcase under the new agreement. Over the longer term, the schedule of seven local Spirit broadcasts in the 2026 season will test how far a free, creator-integrated streaming approach can extend week-to-week engagement. For the Spirit and Victory+, the focus now turns to execution: delivering the promised live coverage, exclusive content, and the always-on NWSL hub experience in a way that keeps DMV viewers plugged in throughout the season.
