Rush Premieres Dynamic New Line-Up with “Finding My Way” at Junos

Rush has revealed their new touring line-up during the annual Juno Awards in Canada. They performed the iconic track “Finding My Way,” which originally debuted on their first album in 1974. This performance marked the beginning of their Fifty Something world tour.

New Additions to the Line-Up

The event showcased the debut of drummer Anika Nilles, who takes over for the late Neil Peart, who passed away in 2020. Also joining the group is keyboardist Loren Gold, known for his work with The Who and Chicago.

As the band played, images from their extensive career, including tributes to Peart, played on screens behind them. This added a nostalgic touch to their performance.

Insights from the Band

Following their performance, band member Geddy Lee discussed the song selection. He emphasized the difficulty of choosing just one song from Rush’s extensive catalog. “You really can’t ask us what song to play,” Lee said. Instead, they relied on management for the decision, opting for the first track from their first album.

Alex Lifeson humorously added, “Also, it’s the only song we know how to play.” This lighthearted banter underscored their excitement about returning to the stage.

Significant Milestones

This performance marked the first time Lee and Lifeson have played together as Rush since Peart’s final show at the Los Angeles Forum on August 1, 2015. They had previously attended the Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts in September 2022, but this was a significant return to form for the band.

Upcoming Performances

Rush has also announced plans for UK and European performances as part of their expanding Fifty Something world tour, set to kick off in February 2027. Fans eagerly await more details about this tour.
