Scarlett Moffatt says Ant and Dec are ‘lovely’ ahead of I’m A Celebrity return

Scarlett Moffatt has said she cannot wait to give a “big hug” to presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly as she returns for the all-stars edition of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, which resumes on Easter Monday, April 6 (ET). The former Gogglebox star, crowned Queen Of The Jungle in 2016 during the Australian series, will re-enter the jungle in South Africa alongside a raft of familiar faces. She told interviewers she was looking forward to reuniting with the hosting duo because they welcomed her into their home when she first moved to London.

Scarlett Moffatt on Ant and Dec: personal memories

Speaking about the presenting pair, Scarlett Moffatt said: “When I first moved to London, they were so lovely and asked me what I missed most about being away from home. I said: ‘Sunday dinners with the family’. They invited me round a few times to have dinner. They are lovely people. They say ‘don’t meet your heroes’, but when your heroes are them it’s OK. I can’t wait to give them a big hug. ” The remark underscores a personal bond that predates the new all-stars series and frames her return as both competitive and warmly familiar.

Line-up, campmates and key returns

The cast for season two of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa gathers established names. Scarlett Moffatt joins actor Adam Thomas, Olympian Mo Farah, and former Coronation Street star Beverley Callard among returning contestants. Adam Thomas, listed as a Waterloo Road star, said he would “love to see some old faces again” and added: “Life is for living and I’m really looking forward to experiencing the show all over again. I am really excited and I can’t wait to get to the camp to meet all the other celebrities. ” Other confirmed participants include football manager Harry Redknapp, champion boxer David Haye, former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, comedian Seann Walsh, pop star Sinitta, Red Dwarf actor Craig Charles and ex-footballer Jimmy Bullard.

Scarlett also singled out reality star Gemma Collins as an ideal campmate, calling her an “icon” and arguing that giving contestants who left early another chance is valuable. Collins originally appeared in the 2014 series but quit after three days.

What’s next: broadcast format and what viewers can expect

The series has been pre-recorded and is scheduled to return on Easter Monday, April 6 (ET), with episodes airing every weeknight. Celebrities will compete to be crowned the legend, with a live grand final broadcast from London allowing viewers to cast a vote for the winner. Production has framed this as an all-stars run that reunites past campmates and presenters, setting up a mix of rivalry and reunion drama as familiar faces meet again in the jungle setting in South Africa.

As the series reaches its broadcast phase, attention will turn to how Scarlett Moffatt reconnects on screen with Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly and whether her warmth off-camera translates into alliances or momentum in the camp. The vote-driven grand final will provide the next decisive moment for returning stars and viewers alike, and Scarlett Moffatt’s reunion with the presenting duo is likely to be a highlight when the show airs.
