A series of exciting Magic: The Gathering events is set to take place, showcasing the diverse activities surrounding the release of “Secrets of Strixhaven.” Players can look forward to various competitive and casual formats appealing to both novice and seasoned participants.
Magic Academy Events and Rewards
Local game stores will host numerous Magic Academy events featuring limited-time rewards. As part of the Welcome Deck promotion, participants will receive a special Strixhaven-themed bumper sticker or an MTG Arena reward.
Standard Showdown
From April 24 to June 18, players can engage in Standard Showdown events. These competitive matches offer the chance to win a traditional foil, retro frame promo card of “Into the Flood Maw,” illustrated by Danny Schwartz. Competitors are encouraged to check in with their local game stores for event details.
Two-Headed Giant Commander Nights
Also running from April 24 to June 18, these events invite players to team up for collaborative games. Attendees can earn a retro frame promo card of “Access Tunnel,” along with additional prizes as determined by game stores.
Commander Party
Join the Commander Party from May 1-7 and June 5-11 for a thematic experience that immerses players in Strixhaven’s rich lore. Participants will receive the “Access Tunnel” promo card while completing quests related to their chosen colleges.
MagicCon: Las Vegas
MagicCon will take place in Las Vegas from May 1-3, featuring the Pro Tour “Secrets of Strixhaven.” Competitors will vie for a share of a $500,000 prize pool, as well as invitations to the Magic World Championship. Attendees can cheer on players in person and follow the action through various streaming platforms.
Magic Spotlight: Secrets
This year, the Magic Spotlight: Secrets events will be held in London, England, from May 8-10, and in Chiba, Japan, from May 29-31. Each event features a $50,000 prize pool, and every player will receive a special non-foil promo card of “Liliana Vess.”
Store Championships
Taking place from May 8-31, Store Championships will challenge players to showcase their skills in Standard Constructed events. Participants will receive a non-foil promo card of “Unearth,” with limited top finishes earning the “Psychic Frog” promo card.
Magic Presents: Open the Archive
From May 22 to June 18, partake in the Magic Presents: Open the Archive event. This unique draft allows players to draft from the “Secrets of Strixhaven” set while incorporating elements from the Mystical Archive. Participants can earn a special avatar and collectible coins.
CommandFests and Local Celebrations
CommandFests will be hosted across multiple countries, including Australia, Germany, and China, from May 22-24 and May 30-31. Additionally, the Magic Presents: Pride event will occur from June 5-14, celebrating community through casual Commander games.
Upcoming Regional Championship Qualifiers
The Regional Championship Qualifiers (RCQs) will begin on April 4 and conclude on August 2. Participants will have the opportunity to earn promo cards and compete for a place in the Regional Championships, showcasing their skills in various formats.
Regional Championships
Starting May 8, Regional Championships offer a pathway for players to qualify for the Pro Tour. Prizes include promo cards and a chance to compete at a higher level in Magic. Locations include Japan, the United States, Canada, and more.
