Reeve Carney, Corbin Bleu & John Behlmann Join The Great Gatsby on Broadway Tonight

Broadway leading man reeve carney steps into the title role of Jay Gatsby on March 30 ET, joining his wife Eva Noblezada on Broadway. Corbin Bleu takes over as Nick Carraway and John Behlmann joins the New Money crew as Tom Buchanan after three performers took final bows the night before, March 29 ET. The casting shift refreshes the principal lineup while keeping core company members in place.

Reeve Carney Joins as Jay Gatsby

reeve carney assumes the role of Jay Gatsby, performing opposite Eva Noblezada, who returned to the production on March 4 ET to reprise the role she originated. Carney previously shared the stage with Noblezada in Cabaret on the West End, and he originated the role of Orpheus in Hadestown on both Broadway and the West End, later returning to London’s Lyric Theatre in 2025 for a limited run. His screen credits include Tom Ford in House of Gucci and Dorian Gray in Penny Dreadful, and he made his Broadway debut as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

Final Bows, Incoming Cast and Principal Ensemble

Three performers — who played Gatsby, Nick Carraway and Tom Buchanan — took final bows on March 29 ET, creating the openings filled by the new arrivals. Corbin Bleu steps in as Nick Carraway after originating the part in the European premiere of the production in the West End and earning an Olivier Award nomination for that work. John Behlmann joins the stage as Tom Buchanan and will integrate with current principals Samantha Pauly as Jordan Baker, Linedy Genao as Myrtle Wilson, Eric Anderson as Meyer Wolfsheim and Charlie Pollock as George Wilson. Tony Award–nominee Eva Noblezada remains in the cast as Daisy Buchanan, now performing alongside reeve carney in the newly configured company.

What’s Next for the Production

Performances resume with the updated lineup beginning March 30 ET, and audiences will see the new team share the stage with the established principals. The incoming trio joins a production that blends jazz and pop-infused music with staging that has moved the story to the Broadway musical stage; the company has also shared acoustic material from the show publicly, with Reeve Carney and Eva Noblezada performing an acoustic version of “My Green Light” with Carney on guitar. As the run continues, ticketed audiences will witness how reeve carney, Corbin Bleu and John Behlmann settle into their roles and interact with the remaining company members in performances scheduled through the season.

All casting changes and performance dates are noted here with time references in Eastern Time: the new cast began March 30 ET, Eva Noblezada returned on March 4 ET, and departing cast members gave final bows on March 29 ET.
