DOJ Reveals Gucci Mane as Target in Pooh Shiesty’s Kidnapping Plot

The Department of Justice has revealed that rapper Gucci Mane was the target of a kidnapping and robbery plot orchestrated by Pooh Shiesty, an artist signed to Mane’s label. This allegation came to light through a criminal complaint released on a Thursday.

Details of the Incident

The complaint outlines the events that unfolded on January 10, when Lontrell Williams Jr., known professionally as Pooh Shiesty, requested a meeting with Gucci Mane, whose legal name is Radric Davis. The meeting was aimed at discussing concerns Shiesty had regarding his contract with Mane’s 1017 Records.

At the time, Pooh Shiesty was under home confinement due to a previous firearms conviction in Florida. He arrived at a Dallas music studio, wearing an ankle monitor. During their meeting, Shiesty learned via phone that he was not authorized to leave his residence. Although Mane offered to reschedule their discussion, Shiesty insisted on continuing with the meeting in a connected recording room.

The Alleged Threat

While in the room with Mane and his colleagues, an argument quickly escalated. Shiesty asked another artist present to retrieve his bag, from which he pulled out a black AK-style pistol. He demanded that Mane sign documents for his contract release while holding the weapon against him.

After Mane complied, the situation deteriorated further. Six individuals from Shiesty’s group allegedly entered the studio, armed, and attempted to steal valuables from others present. One victim, identified only by initials as “M.M.,” had significant items taken, including a Rolex watch and Apple AirPods. Reports indicate that he was assaulted during the robbery.

Arrests and Legal Consequences

After the incident, Pooh Shiesty, his father, and a group of seven others fled the scene in distinguishable vehicles. Surveillance footage from a nearby building showed a 2020 Dodge Charger Hellcat associated with his father and two rental cars that were linked to them. Later, these individuals were apprehended in Dallas and Memphis, Tennessee.

  • Charges: Federal charges for kidnapping and armed robbery.
  • Potential Penalty: Life imprisonment if convicted.
  • U.S. Attorney: Ryan Raybould described the suspects as having resorted to violence and intimidation.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office noted that the electronic monitoring device on Shiesty placed him at the scene during the time of the alleged crime. Additionally, social media posts from the suspects featured the stolen items shortly after the robbery.

As of now, there has been no response from representatives of either Gucci Mane or Pooh Shiesty regarding these allegations. The outcome of this case is eagerly awaited as the legal proceedings unfold.
