Jonathan Majors Injured in Stunt on Daily Wire Action Movie Set
Jonathan Majors is currently working on a new action movie produced by Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire and Dallas Sonnier’s Bonfire Legend. However, production has encountered challenges due to an on-set accident and a crew strike.
Accident on Set Involving Jonathan Majors
On Friday, footage emerged showing Jonathan Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne unintentionally falling through a window during filming. The two actors stumbled backward, resulting in a dramatic fall captured on camera. Following the incident, crew members quickly approached to assess their condition.
In the recording, a voice that appears to be Majors indicates a desire to know if the scene was captured, asking, “Did we shoot it? Use it.” Reports indicate that the glass was an unsecured sheet intended for a later stunt, meaning that both actors fell approximately six feet to the ground. Kilcoyne sustained injuries that required stitches on his hands, though his representatives stated he was promptly treated and felt safe while working.
Production Challenges and Crew Strike
The accident seems to have catalyzed a crew walkout. On March 26, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) announced a strike against the production. Concerns regarding labor practices led crew members to leave the set in South Carolina, marking a significant disruption in the filming of the movie, tentatively titled “Knuckle.”
- IATSE urged its members not to cross the picket line.
- Producers are reportedly seeking replacement crew members.
Despite this turmoil, some filming is reportedly ongoing, with ongoing negotiations between the production team and the striking crew.
Background of the Film and Jonathan Majors’ Career
The film is directed by Kyle Rankin, who has previously collaborated with The Daily Wire on the action film “Run Hide Fight.” While plot details remain largely undisclosed, an early logline paints a picture of American warriors defending their homeland with resilience and firepower.
Jonathan Majors has seen varied responses to his recent career moves. Although his performances in films like “Creed III” and the Marvel Cinematic Universe gained acclaim, his career faced setbacks following a domestic assault conviction earlier this year. This led to his exit from significant roles, including a portrayal of basketball legend Dennis Rodman.
Nevertheless, Majors seems to be rebounding, garnering positive reviews for his latest project, the drama “Magazine Dreams,” which premiered at Sundance. He is also set to feature in the upcoming thriller “Merciless.”
