2028 Los Angeles Olympics Tickets Available This Thursday
The competition to secure tickets for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles is intensifying. Starting Thursday, fans can access the first wave of tickets available for purchase globally. This sales period will continue until April 19, with additional opportunities planned leading up to the event.
Ticket Availability and Pricing
The LA28 Olympic Committee reports that the local pre-sale saw significant interest, with hundreds of thousands of Southern Californians acquiring tickets at affordable prices. Notably, the first week of sales has outperformed previous Olympic Games.
Despite this success, many users faced challenges during the pre-sale. Issues such as sold-out events and error messages disrupted the ticket purchasing experience. Nonetheless, the LA28 committee assures potential buyers that affordable ticket options are available.
Key Ticket Statistics
- Over one million tickets priced at $28 will be available.
- Nearly 50% of tickets are priced under $200.
- More than 75% of all Olympic tickets, including finals, will sell for under $400.
- Only about 5% of tickets will exceed $1,000, primarily for prime seating at marquee events.
Resale Market Guidelines
As excitement builds, there is some confusion surrounding ticket sales. StubHub plans to list tickets starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday. However, the LA28 committee warns that any resale tickets available before 2027 are not verified. StubHub is not an approved resale partner, unlike Ticketmaster and Sports Illustrated Tickets, which are recognized by LA28 for reselling tickets.
All primary ticket sales should be conducted through LA28’s official ticketing partners, AXS and Eventim. With high demand and limited availability, securing tickets could prove as challenging as the Games themselves.
