Ryan Blaney Secures NASCAR Bristol Pole, Edging Out Reddick
Ryan Blaney of Team Penske has clinched the pole position for the NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway. During Saturday’s qualifying, he posted a remarkable lap time of 15.101 seconds. This achievement marks Blaney’s 13th career pole and his second at this track.
Blaney’s Performance and Strategy
Blaney expressed satisfaction with his performance during qualifying. He noted the challenges he faced on the first lap but made effective adjustments for his second attempt. “Just kind of got free on Lap 1, and then it was like all right, gather yourself up in (Turns) 3 and 4 and try and get a second lap,” he stated.
He went on to praise his team’s efforts, saying, “A really great job by the whole 12 boys. Our race car in practice was pretty good.” Blaney is optimistic about competing for 500 laps in the upcoming race.
Front Row Lineup
Joining Blaney on the front row is Tyler Reddick, the championship leader, who qualified second with his No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota. Chase Briscoe claimed third place, while Riley Herbst finished fourth, achieving his best qualifying position in Cup history.

Other Notable Performances
While Alex Bowman qualified 27th after a five-week recovery from vertigo, William Byron, another Hendrick Motorsports driver, will start 34th. Herbst showcased dominance early in the qualifying round, leading the first half before ultimately being surpassed.
Throughout the session, all 37 entries managed to record a time, with no incidents reported. However, five teams faced penalties, losing their pit stall selection and having a member ejected due to pre-race inspection issues.
