Blaze Bayley Discusses Iron Maiden’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction

Iron Maiden will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2026, finally receiving recognition after decades of being overlooked. This induction honors not only the classic lineup but also former members like Blaze Bayley and the late Paul Di’Anno.

Blaze Bayley Reflects on the Induction

In a recent interview with Metal Hammer, Blaze Bayley expressed his excitement about the nomination. He stated, “It’s crazy, really!” highlighting his admiration for iconic musicians like Ronnie James Dio, who is already in the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame. Bayley acknowledged the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a broader recognition, describing it as “another level entirely.”

Feeling fortunate to be mentioned alongside other legendary artists, Bayley mentioned the congratulatory messages he received from fans. “It feels like a real privilege to be nominated,” he added.

Iron Maiden’s Past Comments on HOF Induction

Iron Maiden has previously been vocal about their feelings towards the Hall of Fame. Lead singer Bruce Dickinson called the exclusion “an utter, complete load of bollocks” in 2022. Meanwhile, bassist Steve Harris revealed in 2023 that he had never been particularly bothered by the lack of recognition.

Manager Rod Smallwood’s Statement

Iron Maiden’s longtime manager, Rod Smallwood, shared a more positive outlook upon the announcement of their induction. He thanked the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for including the band and acknowledged the contributions of former members. Smallwood emphasized that Iron Maiden values their relationship with fans above all else, although he recognized the significance of industry accolades.
