Matt LeBlanc’s ‘Flint’ Crime Drama and Two More Projects at CBS

As part of its ongoing development strategy, CBS has unveiled plans for “Flint,” a crime drama featuring Matt LeBlanc in both starring and executive roles. This series, alongside two additional projects, marks a significant step in the network’s programming. CBS has also announced that “I Know Who You Are,” a forensic drama, and “Hilda! In Lights,” a comedic take on city life, will receive further script development.

Details on Matt LeBlanc’s ‘Flint’ Crime Drama

“Flint,” written and executive produced by Evan Katz, known for his work on “24,” portrays LeBlanc as a disillusioned LAPD detective. Just a week away from retirement, his plans take a turn when the city unexpectedly extends his service by five years. In his quest to expedite his retirement, he intentionally breaks protocols, defies authority, and inadvertently enhances his detective skills in the process.

Executive Production Team

In addition to Katz, renowned film and television producer Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed will serve as executive producers for the series. If realized, this project will represent LeBlanc’s first drama role and his return to CBS, where he previously starred in the sitcom “Man With a Plan.” He gained widespread recognition for his role in “Friends” and most recently appeared in the 2021 reunion special.

Other CBS Developments

CBS is also progressing on two other noteworthy projects:

  • I Know Who You Are: This series centers around a forensic genealogist who returns to the police force she left behind. Together with her former partner, they utilize DNA technology to solve complex cases while dealing with unresolved issues from their past. It is inspired by Barbara Rae-Venter’s memoir.
  • Hilda! In Lights: A unique twist on the classic theme, this comedy follows 70-year-old Hilda, a feisty woman who moves to the city to pursue her dreams, showcasing her journey amidst life’s challenges.

“I Know Who You Are” is executive produced by Barbara Rae-Venter, alongside Sharon Levy and Lisa Fahrenholt from Endemol Shine North America, and Philly De Lacey from Screentime New Zealand. “Hilda! In Lights” features exec producers Abbey Caldwell, Will Graham, Max Linsky, and Tonia Davis.

In addition, CBS is exploring the development of a new medical spinoff titled “Fire Country – Sheriff Country,” indicating their commitment to expanding their impactful programming slate.
