Mr Beast Company Faces Lawsuit Over Sexual Harassment Claims

Former executive alleges hostile workplace
Mavromatis says the company’s leadership condoned harassment of women and did not take complaints seriously. In the lawsuit, she says she was fired after complaining about a workplace she described as lacking basic employment protections, and after returning from pregnancy-related leave.
The complaint says she first joined Beast Industries as head of Instagram before being promoted into a higher role. It alleges that she was treated differently from male colleagues, moved into a lesser position, and then dismissed less than three weeks after coming back from leave. The filing also seeks lost wages, lost benefits, reinstatement, and other damages.
The lawsuit adds that Mavromatis experienced and observed sexual harassment affecting other female employees and says some of that conduct was “condoned and/or perpetuated by their supervisors. ” It also says she suffered mental anguish, humiliation, embarrassment, and emotional harm tied to the alleged conduct.

One part of the filing says former Beast Industries chief executive James Warren made comments about Donaldson, saying he was awkward around beautiful women. The complaint also says Warren made Mavromatis meet him at his home for one-on-one meetings while commenting on the way she looked.
The lawsuit further claims she was told Donaldson would not work with her on certain projects because her appearance had a sexual effect on him. It also says she was urged to work during maternity leave and asked to join a conference call while in labor.
Beast Industries rejected the claims in strong terms. A company representative said the complaint was a “clout-chasing complaint” built on “deliberate misrepresentations and categorically false statements, ” and said there is evidence that refutes the allegations. The company also said it would not “submit to opportunistic lawyers looking to manufacture a payday. ”

The company’s response makes clear it plans to fight the suit. It says Slack and WhatsApp messages, company documents, and witness testimony contradict Mavromatis’s version of events.
Mavromatis, for her part, says the environment was hostile and that female employees were dismissed or treated unfairly. She also says she was demoted and transferred to a role that employees informally viewed as a dead end.
