Melissa McCarthy Joins ‘SVU’ Cast, Surprises Mariska Hargitay
Melissa McCarthy made a surprising guest appearance on the popular TV series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, much to the delight of lead actress Mariska Hargitay. In the episode titled “Gimmick” from Season 27, McCarthy portrayed a professional fighter, surprising Hargitay on set.
Behind the Scenes Surprise
McCarthy shared a behind-the-scenes video, revealing her disguise strategy to keep her appearance a secret. In her post, she expressed her admiration for Hargitay, stating, “Sometimes you just have to show up to give a proper ATTA GIRL to a total (ultimate) boss lady.”
She further noted the challenges of keeping the surprise, writing, “Turns out it is VERY hard trying to keep secrets from @therealmariskahargitay on her set but we managed to pull it off.” McCarthy emphasized the joy of the day amid heavy times, stating, “this day was PURE JOY.”
