Power has been restored after an outage hit parts of the Miami Valley early Wednesday, after thousands of AES Ohio customers lost electricity in the pre-dawn hours.
Just after 3 a.m., as many as 2,800 outages were reported. By 3:35 a.m., almost 1,800 AES Ohio customers were still without power, and at 4:05 a.m. that number had fallen to almost 100, according to the AES Ohio outage map.
Most of the outages were in Montgomery County, where several people across the Miami Valley were affected before the lights came back on.
The swift drop in outage counts points to a restoration effort that moved quickly through the morning. For people in the hardest-hit parts of the Miami Valley, the immediate question was not whether the outage would be serious, but how long they would have to wait for power to return. By the time of the article, the answer was that service had been restored.
