Dua Lipa Linked to Two-Day Palermo Wedding Leak
Dua Lipa has been named in a leaked report about a two-day celebrity wedding in Palermo, Sicily, with Callum Turner listed as the most likely groom. The report landed after Lipa and Turner spent a lot of time in Palermo last summer, turning a getaway into the clearest clue yet about a possible wedding location.
Palermo and the leak
An Italian newspaper received the leak that a wedding planner was organising the event in Palermo, and the format alone tells you the scale of the production: two days, not one. Lipa later posted Instagram pictures from the city with the caption, “Palermo in my ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡”, which now reads less like a casual travel note than a public breadcrumb.
The planner named in the broader Sicily wedding circuit, Pearl van den Ende, has described the island as appealing because “It feels cooler, slightly more rugged and less polished than somewhere like the Amalfi Coast” and because “The people are incredibly welcoming and they love a celebration.” That combination has helped move Sicily from backdrop to destination in its own right.
Sicily's wedding draw
Data from the Destination Wedding Italia initiative in 2025 showed that almost a third of all weddings in Italy took place in Sicily, a share that would make the island hard to ignore for anyone planning a high-end event. Recent examples have stacked up fast: Charli XCX and George Daniel married at Tonnara di Scopello in Sicily last September, while Jamie Winston married James Suckling in Scopello in 2023.
Last year, Fuchsia Kate Sumner held a three-day wedding extravaganza in Sicily, and Thom Yorke married Dajana Roncione at Villa Vanguarnera in Bagheria in 2020. Wedding photographer Ben Wheeler said, “My experience of weddings there tends to be more immersive with long tables for dinners, movement, noise and heat!” and added, “It’s the kind of place where the setting doesn’t just look beautiful, it adds energy and character to the story.”
Sicily's appeal has also been reinforced by screen tourism, with the second season of The White Lotus filmed at the Four Seasons San Domenico Palace and Villa Igiea. For Palermo, the leak is less gossip than business intelligence: the city is now being discussed in the same sentence as the most visible names in contemporary celebrity weddings, and the next move will be whether the reported planning turns into a booked, public event.
