Sorloth and Kean Lead Milan's Striker Search To 2 Names
AC Milan’s striker search has been cut to two names, and sorloth is one of them. Quotidiano Sportivo says the club is now weighing Alexander Sorloth of Atletico Madrid against Moise Kean of Fiorentina as it tries to sharpen a forward line that has produced just five goals in the second half of the season.
Milan Narrowed the Field
The selection process has been narrowed down to just two names: Moise Kean of Fiorentina and Alexander Sorloth of Atletico Madrid. Kean is Milan’s main target, but the list is no longer broad enough to hide the pressure on a unit that has scored only five times after the break in form.
That number sits alongside a mixed run from Milan’s attackers. Rafael Leao’s last goal for the club came in Cremona, Christian Pulisic’s last league goal came in the 3-0 win against Verona, Santiago Gimenez has not scored since last September, Niclas Fullkrug scored against Lecce on January 18, and Christopher Nkunku scored in Bologna on February 3.
Why Sorloth Fits Milan
Sorloth brings a different route to the same problem. The 30-year-old would like to find more playing time than he is getting currently with Atlético, and Quotidiano Sportivo says he would cost a bit less than Kean.
Kean remains the expensive reference point in the chase. His €62 million release clause can be activated until mid-July, which leaves Milan with a clear financial choice between a fixed-price move for the Fiorentina striker and a cheaper alternative in Sorloth.
Kean and the €62 Million Clause
The gap between the two names is not just about age or fit. Milan’s search has already moved past several other strikers floated in recent days, including Robert Lewandowski, Dusan Vlahovic and Goncalo Ramos, and the club is now focused on the two forwards who best match the current market and the squad’s scoring need.
For Milan, the next step is simple: decide whether the main target stays Kean, with the clause deadline running to mid-July, or whether Sorloth becomes the more practical answer to a frontline that has not produced enough goals since the second half of the season began.
