Theodore's OT Goal Lifts Golden Knights Past Mammoth 5-4 — Nhl Stream
Shea Theodore ended it at 19:08 of overtime, and the nhl stream from Delta Center delivered a 5-4 Vegas Golden Knights win over the Utah Mammoth in Game 4 on Monday. The result tied the best-of-7 Western Conference First Round at 2-2 and sent the series back to Las Vegas for Game 5.
Theodore at 19:08
Theodore put Vegas in front after a game that kept shifting. He beat Utah’s Karel Vejmelka in overtime to finish off a comeback that included a 3-0 lead, a 4-3 deficit, and one final push from the Golden Knights.
Vegas had opened the scoring through Pavel Dorofeyev at 1:12 of the first period. Brett Howden added a short-handed goal at 18:38 of the same period, and Cole Smith stretched the lead to 3-0 at 3:26 of the second.
Utah Rallies Through Schmaltz
Utah answered fast. Nick Schmaltz started the push at 8:04 of the second period, and Ian Cole cut the gap to 3-2 just 29 seconds later at 8:33.
Schmaltz finished with a goal and an assist, while Mikhail Sergachev set up three Utah goals. Carter Hart held Vegas together long enough for the finish, stopping 27 shots, and Vejmelka made 31 saves for Utah.
Howden, Eichel, Hanifin
Howden had two goals and an assist for Vegas, giving the Golden Knights a second scoring layer behind Theodore. Jack Eichel added three assists, and Noah Hanifin also had three assists as Vegas kept finding answers after Utah closed the gap.
Howden said the group handled the late swings by staying composed in front of Hart. Theodore said Vegas liked its mindset, pointed to the response after Utah scored in the third, and said the finish was “obviously really nice to get the job done in overtime too.”
The series now shifts to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, with both teams locked at 2-2. Vegas has already shown it can recover from a 3-0 cushion slipping away and a later 4-3 hole; Game 5 now becomes the next swing point in a series that has already turned twice.
