Nine Sols, EA Sports FC 26 Lead Playstation Plus Monthly Games
PlayStation Plus monthly games will add three titles on May 5: Nine Sols, EA Sports FC 26, and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. The May 2026 drop gives subscribers on PS4 and PS5 a mix of an award-winning sidescroller, a soccer series entry, and a soulslike RPG, with April’s lineup still available until May 4.
Nine Sols on PS4 and PS5
Nine Sols arrives as the most decorated name in the group. The 2D action-platformer from Taiwanese indie studio RedCandleGames came out in May 2024 and later picked up accolades from Gamescom, Bitsummit, SXSW, and other organizations.
That run matters here because it turns the May 5 addition into more than a catalog fill-in. Subscribers on both PS4 and PS5 get access to a game that already built a reputation outside the subscription model, and PlayStation Plus is using that recognition to make the month’s free lineup look more curated than random.
EA Sports FC 26’s 20,000 players
EA Sports FC 26 brings the biggest licensed roster in the group, with more than 20,000 players across more than 750 clubs and national teams. The latest version of the soccer series formerly known as FIFA also adds an overhauled UI, updated mechanics, and new Live Challenges.
For PS4 and PS5 subscribers, that means the May 5 drop reaches beyond niche action games and into a franchise built for repeat play. The size of the player database is the practical hook: it keeps the game broad enough for both casual matches and long-term squad building, which is the sort of structure subscription services like to showcase in a monthly slate.
Wuchang in July 2025
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers enters the lineup from a later release window, having launched on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in July 2025. The soulslike action RPG follows Wuchang, a lady pirate warrior who wakes up with amnesia in a world of monstrous creatures and a mysterious spreading disease.
Developed by Chinese studio Leenzee and published by 505 Games, the game sits in a dark-fantasy story set during the Ming Dynasty. Its PS5 placement is the wrinkle in the lineup: unlike the other two May additions, it does not extend to PS4, so last-gen subscribers get two titles while current-gen users get all three.
April’s games until May 4
April’s PS Plus monthly freebies — Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, and Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream — remain downloadable until May 4. The overlap gives members one day to claim the current set before the May 5 rotation replaces it with the new trio and the PlayStation Plus Icons Pack.
