Christian Horner Fuels MotoGP Team Speculation With Liberty Media Visit

Christian Horner turned a MotoGP appearance into fresh speculation about his next move, saying he was there as a guest of MotoGP and Liberty Media while exploring other forms of motorsport. He also left the door open to a future team investment, keeping attention on a possible crossover from Formula 1 to MotoGP.

Horner at MotoGP with Liberty

Horner said, "I'm here as a guest of MotoGP and Liberty Media," and described the series as being in a "really interesting time" under new ownership. He added, "That's why I wanted to come here and see for myself."

The former Red Bull boss pointed to Liberty Media's reach across both championships, saying it could use Formula 1 experience in MotoGP. "I believe this sport has so much to offer. Hopefully, the people at Liberty Media can leverage their experience in Formula 1. I know Stefano Domenicali is very committed - I'm here with him today. There will certainly be some synergy effects," he said.

Koji Watanabe Conversation

Horner was seen in conversation with Koji Watanabe, adding another layer to a visit that already drew attention because of the people around him. Figures such as Gunther Steiner and Massimo Rivola are now established in MotoGP, and Pierre Gasly has bought into a team, which places Horner's presence inside a wider pattern of crossover interest.

He also praised the racing itself. "They're great races, it's a great show. The riders are incredible, the motorcycles are incredible. Only when you see it live do you appreciate how insane these machines are," he said.

Buying Into MotoGP

Asked about the possibility of buying into a MotoGP team, Horner did not shut it down. "I've just come to learn a little bit more while I've got some time, just to explore other forms of motorsport," he said. "I'm liking what I see but there's always going to be speculation."

That leaves his position open while he says he is taking a break. "There are always rumours circulating. For now, I'm still taking a break and I'm in no hurry. We'll see what happens in the end. For the moment, I'm still enjoying watching other sports," he said when asked about the Alpine opportunity. For now, the clearest takeaway is that he is looking, listening, and not ruling out a MotoGP role that could turn speculation into a real purchase.
