Fifteen Fire Engines Called to Stamford Hill Blaze

Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters were sent to a blaze on Cazenove Road in stamford hill at 4.14pm today after the Brigade took the first of over 40 calls at 1614. Thick smoke rose over the street as flames tore through a house, and officials warned the fire could take several hours to bring under control.

Cazenove Road Response

Control Officers mobilised crews from Stoke Newington, Islington, Walthamstow and surrounding fire stations to the scene. Large sections of the building, including the front door area, had already been left severely damaged while firefighters worked to contain the blaze.

Hackney Police Closures

Crowds gathered outside as emergency services kept working at the property, and members of the public were urged to avoid the area. Volunteers from Shomrim assisted officers from Hackney police with road closures nearby.

Stamford Hill Smoke

The fire took place in Stamford Hill near a synagogue, adding pressure on access in a busy area where crews had to move quickly around closures and onlookers. The cause of the fire had not been determined at the time of the response, leaving investigators with the next task once the blaze is brought under control.
