Adam Lakeland Leaves Halifax for Morecambe Role

adam lakeland has left FC Halifax Town to become the new first team manager at Morecambe FC. Halifax were left to start the search for a replacement after a season that ended with an 8th-place finish and a narrow miss on the playoffs.

FC Halifax Town Reacts

FC Halifax Town said: "It's with disappointment that we confirm, manager Adam Lakeland has decided to leave FC Halifax Town and take up the role of first team manager at Morecambe FC." The club also thanked him for his hard work and professionalism this season, adding: "We'd like to put on record our thanks to Adam for his hard work and professionalism this season in guiding us to an 8th place finish, narrowly missing out on the playoffs."

That finish came in Lakeland's first season in charge. He built a squad at The Shay that included some superb signings, and Halifax said it would begin the search for a new manager.

Morecambe Turn After Relegation

The move sends him to Morecambe at a time when the club has just been relegated to the National League North. It also changes the direction of two clubs at once: Halifax lose the manager who guided them through a strong season, while Morecambe bring in a coach who had beaten them home and away with The Shaymen last season.

Halifax said the club will commence its search for a new manager to ensure a swift but positive appointment, with CVs in the first instance to be sent to [email protected]. For supporters, the immediate change is simple: Halifax need a new boss, and Lakeland now faces the task of resetting Morecambe after relegation.
