Ismaila Sarr Fires Palace Ahead 1-0 in Europa League

Ismaila Sarr scored in the first minute and Palace led Shakhtar at half time in europa league action. The goal was the fastest ever in Conference League history, and it gave Palace the kind of start that immediately tilted the match. Sarr drilled his finish into the bottom corner.

At the same time, Aston Villa were creating openings against Forest. Ollie Watkins forced Ortega into a one-handed save, and Emi Martinez later made a wonderful reflex save to claw the ball off the line. Rayo Vallecano and Strasbourg reached half time at 0-0.

For Palace, the key number remains the first minute. Sarr’s goal already put them in front, and the half-time score told the rest of the story: Shakhtar were chasing from the opening passage, while Palace carried the lead into the interval with the quickest goal the competition has seen.
