Minneapolis Weather Forecast Reaches 52 Degrees Before Weekend 60s
Minneapolis weather stayed cool Thursday, with the Twin Cities metro expected to top out around 52 degrees under partly cloudy skies. The day started bright and crisp, then turned partly sunny in the afternoon. A weekend warmup is set to follow, with temperatures moving into the 60s by Saturday.
Keither Marler Forecast
FOX 9 meteorologist Keither Marler said much of Minnesota was expected to stay in the 50s Thursday, with cooler 40s to the north. Winds were set to stay light from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph, and most areas were expected to stay dry.
A few spotty sprinkles could not be ruled out Thursday, mainly across southwestern Minnesota. That leaves the state with a split forecast: dry for most places, but not completely free of passing moisture.
Friday Frost Risk
Skies were expected to begin clearing overnight Thursday, with temperatures dipping into the 30s. Patchy frost was possible heading into Friday morning, especially after the cool daytime pattern and lighter overnight conditions.
Friday was expected to stay cool, with highs in the mid-50s and a mix of sunshine and passing clouds. The shift matters for morning travelers and early outdoor plans, since the coldest part of the stretch comes before the late-week warmup.
Weekend Warmup
Saturday was expected to start chilly, then warm into the 60s by afternoon. Sunday and Monday were expected to continue the warming trend with highs in the upper 60s.
That warm stretch should not last long. Tuesday could bring a few scattered showers and temperatures in the low 60s, followed by cooler air returning by the middle to end of next week, with more frost possible in some areas.
