Michael Bunting draws in for Game 6 with Stars down 3-2
michael bunting is in for Game 6. He will replace Arttu Hyry in the Dallas Stars lineup on Thursday against the Minnesota Wild, and Dallas now has to answer the elimination game with a changed forward group.
Michael Bunting had not yet appeared in the postseason. Alex Petrovic will also draw in on the backend, giving the Stars another lineup shift as they try to climb out of a 3-2 deficit in their first-round series.
Hyry exits after blocked shot
Arttu Hyry left Game 5 after taking a blocked shot and is out with a lower-body injury. That opens the door for Bunting, a mid-season acquisition from the Nashville Predators who logged one goal and one assist in 13 regular-season games with Dallas.
The change also puts Petrovic back into a playoff lineup that already has some recent history behind it. He played 17 playoff games for Dallas last season and recorded one goal and one assist, while posting two goals and eight assists in 54 regular-season games this year.
Tyler Myers loses his spot
Tyler Myers looks like the defenceman coming out, with Petrovic taking his spot during morning skate. Myers, acquired mid-season from the Vancouver Canucks, had a minus-five rating and zero points in five playoff games, along with three assists in 16 regular-season games with the Stars.
Dallas gets one more swing in Game 6 with the series on the line. The winner moves on to face the Colorado Avalanche, so the Stars’ next 60 minutes will decide whether Bunting and Petrovic are part of a rescue act or a one-game cameo.
