Anthony Edwards ruled out for Game 6 as Minnesota Timberwolves seek closeout
The minnesota timberwolves ruled out Anthony Edwards for Game 6 on Thursday night, leaving them without their leading guard for a home playoff game against the Denver Nuggets. Edwards has a bone bruise in his left knee and is set to miss his second consecutive contest.
Game 6 at 9:30 p.m. ET
Minnesota hosted Denver in Game 6 of the first-round series with a 3-2 lead and a chance to clinch a place in the Western Conference semifinals. The game was scheduled for Thursday at 9:30 p.m. ET.
The injury report listed three Timberwolves players. Donte DiVincenzo was ruled out for the remainder of the season after tearing his Achilles in Game 4, and Bones Hyland was questionable with left knee soreness.
Bones Hyland and Mike Conley
Hyland was in danger of missing his first playoff game, which could push more of the handling duties toward Mike Conley if Minnesota needs another creator. Edwards had already been expected to miss multiple weeks, so the Timberwolves had been preparing for this stretch without him.
The timing leaves Minnesota trying to finish the series at home without the player who has driven much of its scoring load. If Hyland cannot go, the injury report would trim the backcourt again just as the Nuggets try to extend the series.
