Cialone asks probe linking Lucero abuse charge, disappearance

Yamila Cialone asked the Federal Justice to investigate whether Roque Lucero’s alleged conduct is linked to lucero Belén Lucero’s disappearance. She went to court after learning of the accusations against her daughter’s paternal grandfather and asked federal prosecutors to examine the two cases together.

Roque Lucero indictment

Roque Lucero was indicted on April 20 for aggravated sexual abuse involving a minor with a disability. The abuse complaint against him was filed in November 2024, and the victim in that case is a minor with a disability.

The defense said the Cámara Gesell analysis was positive and that led to the indictment. The girl in the abuse case was allegedly taken by a neighbor living across the street and abused inside the home.

Guadalupe Lucero case

Guadalupe Belén Lucero disappeared on June 21, 2021, at age 5. Her mother’s request seeks to have the sexual abuse proceedings made public so the Federal Justice can intervene in Guadalupe’s case.

The family wants authorities to examine whether Roque Lucero’s alleged conduct and the disappearance are connected. Eric Lucero is Guadalupe’s father, and Poma de Otaegi is the lawyer for the victims.

Court measures for Roque

Roque Lucero remains free under precautionary measures. He must sign an attendance record from the 1st to the 10th of each month, is prohibited from leaving the country, and was ordered to leave the home where he lived near the complainant.

A second abuse complaint against him is also underway and is in the Cámara Gesell stage. That leaves the federal request centered on whether the separate abuse file should now be examined alongside the open disappearance case.
