Leeds Rhinos Score 2026 MND Shirt With £10 Charity Split

Leeds Rhinos score their 2026 MND Awareness shirt launch with a design built around the blue cornflower, the symbol that has become tied to motor neurone disease. The club will wear the special kit against Hull KR on Friday 26th June, with £10 from every shirt sold going to Leeds Hospitals Charity for the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease.

Blue cornflower design

The shirt draws on the blue cornflower, chosen for its fragile appearance and hardy nature, and the idea grew from the 2024 design created by Cath Muir. Muir is living with MND, and her earlier shirt featured blue cornflowers drawn by hand in the special design.

The 2026 version is meant to widen the focus beyond one person and show support for the whole MND community. That shift sits alongside a campaign that has already raised more than £250,000 since 2020 through annual MND Awareness shirts for different MND causes.

Leeds Hospitals Charity appeal

The money from each sale will go into the ongoing Leeds Hospitals Charity appeal supporting the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease. The centre opened in November 2025 after a £6.8 million fundraising appeal, and Leeds Hospitals Charity says it continues to support the team with equipment, specialist staff and new research projects.

Esther Wakeman said the support from Leeds Rhinos has helped turn the centre into reality, while Jamie Jones-Buchanan said the club must keep looking after the MND community and continue Rob Burrow's legacy. He added that the work is not done and that the club must keep supporting those diagnosed every day with the disease as well as the search for a cure.
