Auburn Baseball Series Opener Postponed, Doubleheader Set for Saturday
auburn baseball and Texas A&M lost Friday’s top-10 series opener to inclement weather, pushing the matchup into a Saturday doubleheader in Aggieland. The first game is set for 1 p.m., and the second will begin 45 minutes after the opener ends.
No. 8 Auburn at Texas A&M
The postponement shifts the series from a single Friday start into two games on the same day, which changes the rhythm of the opener before the rest of the weekend plays out. The first Saturday game will open the doubleheader, while the second game will follow shortly after the first one finishes.
Fans holding Friday tickets do not need a separate exchange for the make-up game. Those tickets will work for Saturday’s second game, while tickets for Saturday’s original game will be valid for the opening game of the doubleheader.
Saturday in Aggieland
Saturday is already crowded across Aggieland. The No. 7 baseball team will be part of a day that also includes the No. 12 softball squad hosting Oklahoma at 12:15 p.m. and 4 p.m., the Aggie men’s tennis team opening NCAA Tournament first-round matches at the Mitchell Tennis Center at 10 a.m., and Kyle Field expecting more than 100,000 fans for the Savannah Bananas at 7 p.m.
Thursday night and Friday brought a low pressure system across West Texas and waves of showers and storms into the area, and scattered showers moved over already saturated ground. Minor flooding in urban, low-lying areas and roadways remained a concern through Friday evening, which set up the schedule change before Auburn and Texas A&M could take the field.
Texas A&M Tickets
The doubleheader compresses the series into one day, but the ticket setup gives fans a direct path to both games. Friday ticket holders get the second game, and Saturday ticket holders get the first, with the opening pitch at 1 p.m. and the follow-up game 45 minutes after the first ends.
Saturday’s slate turns into a full sports day in College Station, and Auburn-Texas A&M now sits inside a crowded window instead of standing alone on Friday night.
