Franz Wagner Ruled Out for Game 6 as Magic Face Pistons
Franz Wagner is out for Friday’s Game 6 against the Pistons because of a right calf strain, leaving the Magic without one of their main pieces for an elimination game at home. Orlando still holds a 3-2 series lead and can reach the Eastern Conference semifinals with a win.
Magic at 3-2
The Magic host Detroit on Friday night after losing Game 5 on Wednesday night, despite a massive game from Paolo Banchero. Wagner will miss his second consecutive contest, and Orlando now has to finish the series without him on the floor.
That leaves the focus on the injury report and the players who may have to absorb the minutes. Jonathan Isaac is listed as questionable with a left knee sprain and has been sidelined to begin the playoffs, with expectations that he will miss Game 6 as well.
Orlando Injury Report
If Wagner sits again, Anthony Black, Jamal Cain and Tristan da Silva could all see increased roles. That is the practical shift for Orlando: the rotation tightens, and the burden moves further toward the players available behind Banchero.
Game 6 is scheduled for Friday at 7:00 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime Video. The Magic are still in position to close out the first-round series at home, but they will do it with Wagner unavailable and Isaac unlikely to join them.
