Yadier Molina, Pujols Elected to Cardinals Hall of Fame
yadier molina and Albert Pujols are going into the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame together. The Cardinals set the ceremony for Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Busch Stadium, moving it away from the usual Ballpark Village setting.
Pujols and Molina headliner class
Pujols and Molina were elected Friday as the headliners of the 2026 class. Brian Jordan and George Hendrick were also nominated, but the two longtime Cardinals stars took the top spots in the vote.
The club said the new Hall of Fame members would be announced during a live broadcast on Cardinals.tv. That made the election itself the first public step, with the ceremony now fixed for a stadium setting that is different from the team’s usual Hall of Fame stage.
Bill Sherdel joins veterans committee
Bill Sherdel was elected by the veterans committee and gives the class its third honoree. He won 153 games for the Cardinals from 1918 through 1929, was part of pennant-winning teams in 1926 and 1928, and won the World Series in 1926.
For Pujols, the numbers are the kind that leave no argument: 3,080 games, a.296 batting average, 3,384 hits, 703 home runs, and 2,218 RBIs. He also scored 1,914 runs, hit 686 doubles, posted a.374 on-base percentage, a.544 slugging percentage, and a.918 OPS, while stealing 117 bases and collecting a 3× MVP, 11× All-Star, and 2× World Series champion resume.

Molina’s case is built on the same scale of durability. He played 2,224 games, hit.277, collected 2,168 hits, 176 home runs, and 1,022 RBIs, and scored 817 runs with 408 doubles, a.327 on-base percentage, a.399 slugging percentage, and a.726 OPS. He also stole 70 bases, made 10 All-Star teams, won two titles in 2006 and 2011, and added 9 Gold Glove Awards, 4 Platinum Glove Awards, and a Silver Slugger in 2013.
The Cardinals now have their class, their ceremony date, and a different setting for the celebration. Fans who follow the Hall of Fame process will see two franchise icons honored together at Busch Stadium, with Sherdel giving the group a link back to the club’s championship era.
