Garrett Michael Davis Faces Voyeurism Crime Charge in Duncanville
Garrett Michael Davis, a Duncanville High School teacher, was arrested Friday morning and charged with felony voyeurism in a voyeurism crime tied to allegations involving a student. Police also placed him on administrative leave after the arrest.
Duncanville ISD April 13 report
Duncanville ISD said the allegations came to light on April 13 after a person came forward about Davis having an improper relationship with a student. The district said it responded immediately by removing his access to students and making all required reports under district policy and state law.
Police investigation and Texas law
The investigation began after reports were made to school administrators, who asked police for help. Police said they did not release the details surrounding Davis's arrest.
Texas law defines voyeurism as observing another person without consent, including remotely through electronic means, while the other person is in a dwelling or structure where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy, with intent to arouse or gratify sexual desire. CBS News said a felony is warranted if the victim is under the age of 14.
More victims and contact numbers
Both the district and police believe there may be more victims, and both are encouraging additional people with information to come forward. Anyone with additional information about Davis was told to call 972-780-5037 or contact the lead detective at 972-707-3842.
