Robert Clark Trowbridge Purchase

Robert Clark, who is buying a house in Trowbridge, said he could not access vital documents for the purchase of his new home. He told the: "I haven't got a clue at the moment" and "It's the lack of information from them," after trying to contact the firm.

He said: "It wasn't even them that contacted me, it was my agent." Clark added: "I'm very surprised, I wouldn't believe a company that big could go under so quickly."

BLB Solicitors Six Offices

BLB Solicitors is based in Trowbridge in Wiltshire and has offices in Bath, Bristol, Bradford-on-Avon, Swindon, Almondsbury and Trowbridge. It employs more than 40 lawyers across those six locations, and the closure follows a sale of the business that fell through at short notice.

The firm appeared in the London Gazette's insolvency notices on 13 April 2026, after five directors left the company within a three-day window from 30 March to 1 April, according to Companies House.

Mark Rhodes Paperwork

Mark Rhodes said the firm had his paperwork, his will and his lasting power of authority for his children. He said: "We've heard they're in administration. They've got our paperwork, my will and my lasting power of authority for my children," and added: "It's all registered but that's not the point really - you want the paperwork."

Rhodes said: "We didn't get the message. I was told by my daughter who works for one of the estate agents." Repeated calls to the firm went to voicemail, and a sign on the locked doors read "our reception is closed today" as clients sought answers before midday Thursday.
