The post was titled “MAY BROTHERS ANNOUNCE EMOTIONAL EXIT! SET TO LEAVE CLUB,” a line that sent supporters in one direction before the brothers turned it around. Their next post revealed a 3-year extension at the Tigers, keeping both players in the squad through the end of 2030.
Terrell said family was central to the move and pointed to the club environment around Benji and the staff. “Family is so important to us and it’s something that drew me to the club in the first place. I can’t speak highly enough of Benji and the staff for the support they give us to be ourselves on and off the field,” he said.

The retention matters because Terrell has been one of the Tigers’ steadier yardage players in 2026, averaging 161 run metres. That kind of output has helped make him a locked-in forward for a club trying to push toward a rare finals appearance.
Taylan has also produced clear attacking numbers, with four tries, three try assists and six line breaks. Last year, he was handed a chance to come back to the NRL with the Tigers, and he said that opportunity still meant a lot to him.

“I was grateful for the opportunity Benji and the club gave to me last year, giving me a chance to come back to the NRL and play with my brother has been a dream for us,” Taylan said. He added: “We both love it here and I love all the boys, we’ve got a great culture. We’re playing our footy and enjoying the process of getting better every day.”
The brothers’ latest deal keeps that pairing in place well beyond the prank that made the extension feel like a departure story for a few minutes. The Tigers are scheduled to play the Cronulla Sharks at 4:05pm on Sunday at Ocean Protect Stadium, with the pair now set to do that in club colours for years to come.
