Jason Moloney Targets Takuma Inoue After Two-Knockdown Win

Jason Moloney wants takuma inoue next after Inoue’s May 2 decision win over Kazuto Ioka at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. Inoue dropped Ioka twice and improved to 22 wins, 5 KOs and 2 losses, while Moloney immediately moved to put his name in the frame.

Tokyo Dome Result

Inoue’s second straight win came after a decision loss to Seiya Tsutsumi, and it pushed him into a run that now includes victories over Tenshin Nasukawa and Ioka in back-to-back bouts. The score line matters because Moloney reacted right after the result was posted and used it to push for a matchup.

Moloney wrote, “Congratulations Takuma Inoue [on] another impressive performance tonight” and added, “I respect you and what you’ve accomplished” before saying, “but I truly believe this is a fight the fans would love to see.” He closed with, “Always ready to test myself against the best.”

Moloney At Tokyo Dome

The callout carries some weight because Moloney has already been through the Tokyo Dome once before. In 2024, he lost a competitive fight there to Yoshiki Takei, and the former WBO bantamweight world champion has also fought Tenshin Nasukawa, Naoya Inoue and Kohei Kono.

That background gives the challenge a different edge than a routine social-media callout. Moloney has 33 fights of professional experience, and he also rebounded from his defeats by beating Herlan Gomez and Andre Donovan in Australia.

Inoue’s Two-Win Run

For Inoue, the result extends a two-fight run that started after the Tsutsumi loss and now leaves him with 22 wins overall. The two knockdowns against Ioka were the difference in a fight that ended with Inoue leaving the Tokyo Dome with his record intact and his next opponent already talking publicly.

Moloney has done his part by making the request in public. If the bout moves forward, it would pair a boxer coming off consecutive wins with a former world champion who says he is “Always ready to test myself against the best.”
