Tom Davies Drives Hull KR Past Castleford in 50-6 Hull Score
Hull KR produced a 50-6 hull score over Castleford Tigers at Craven Park, and the size of the margin pushed them up to third in Betfred Super League. Tom Davies led the way with a hat-trick as Hull KR turned a one-sided contest into a sixth successive win in all competitions.
Tom Davies Sets The Pace
Davies scored three of Hull KR's nine tries, with Karl Lawton adding a brace in a first half that ended 34-0. Tom Amone and Dean Hadley also crossed before the break, and Rhyse Martin added the finishing touches from the tee by converting seven of the tries.
Hull KR did not slow after halftime. Mikey Lewis and Joe Burgess scored after the restart to keep the scoreboard moving, while the final tally left Castleford with nothing to build on after another heavy points haul against them.
Castleford's Debut Night
Castleford arrived at Craven Park with four debutants in Tyler Dupree, Phoenix Laulu-Togaga'e, Tom Nicholson-Watton and Brad Dwyer, a sign of how stretched their squad was before kick-off. They had shipped 50 points against Hull FC last week, and the first-half gap here quickly turned the match into another hard night.
Krystian Mapapalangi scored Castleford's only try after latching on to a kick from Laulu-Togaga'e, but it came after Hull KR had already taken full control. The debut quartet gave Castleford bodies on the field, not relief on the scoreboard.
Hull KR And Warrington
The win kept Hull KR moving on the right line near the top of Super League and extended their run to six straight in all competitions. Willie Peters' side also head into next Sunday's Challenge Cup semi-final against Warrington at Doncaster with a 50-6 result and a nine-try performance behind them.
