Renato Marin Makes First Ligue 1 Appearance in PSG Rotation — Paris-sg – Lorient

Paris-sg – Lorient turned into a rotation test for PSG at 17 hours, with Renato Marin making his first appearance in Ligue 1. Luis Enrique changed his side heavily after Tuesday’s 5-4 win against Bayern, with the return leg in Munich set for Wednesday.

Marin In Goal

At 19 years old, Marin took the biggest step of his PSG career so far by starting in the league for the first time. Lucas Chevalier was absent because of injury, and that opened the door for the young goalkeeper in a match that arrived in the middle of a compressed week for the club.

The front line also shifted. Désiré Doué was expected to start up front, while Senny Mayulu was expected to begin at right-back. Lucas Beraldo moved back into central defense, and Fabian Ruiz wore the captain’s armband while operating as a number 6.

Lorient Changes

Lorient made fewer changes under Olivier Pantaloni. The team entered after a 3-2 loss to Strasbourg, and Montassar Talbi returned from injury in the back three.

There were also forced adjustments. Bamo Meïté missed out because of an adductor alert, Théo Le Bris was sidelined by hamstring trouble, and Jean-Victor Makengo was replaced by Arthur Avom in midfield.

For PSG, the lineup told the story of a club managing minutes as much as chasing points. Marin’s debut, the shifted back line and Ruiz’s role all pointed to a side built around the schedule in front of it, not just the fixture in front of it.
