Jacob Theodosiou Commits to Duke as Third Transfer Addition
Jacob Theodosiou committed to Duke on Saturday, May 2, giving the Blue Devils a third transfer portal addition and another guard for Jon Scheyer’s roster. The Loyola Maryland guard arrives after Duke finished 35-3 overall and swept the ACC regular season and tournament titles.
Theodosiou Adds Guard Depth
The 6-foot-4, 204-pound junior guard announced his commitment to Duke and coach Jon Scheyer after spending the last two seasons with Loyola Maryland’s Greyhounds. He began his college career at Wyoming, then moved into a bigger role with Loyola Maryland before landing at Duke through the portal.
That role was backed by numbers. During the 2025-26 season, Theodosiou averaged 13.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 46.1% from the field. For Duke, that production gives the staff another ballhandler who has already shown he can score, rebound and create across a full season.
Duke’s Portal Group
Theodosiou joins John Blackwell from Wisconsin and Drew Scharnowski from Belmont as Duke’s other transfer portal additions. That makes three incoming players through the portal, a clear part of the Blue Devils’ offseason roster build around returning pieces and new arrivals.
Duke is set to return Caleb Foster, Patrick Ngongba II, Dame Sarr, Sebastian Wilkins and Cayden Boozer next season, while its recruiting class includes Cameron Williams, Deron Rippey Jr., Bryson Howard, Maxime Meyer and Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje. The roster shape now points to another deep backcourt and frontcourt mix after a season that ended with a 35-3 record and both ACC titles.
For Theodosiou, the move changes the setting as much as the status. He goes from Loyola Maryland to a Duke program that has already added freshmen, returners and three portal players, and his efficiency at 46.1% shooting gives Scheyer another guard option to work into a crowded rotation.
