Palladino Stuck on 0-0 as Atalanta - Genoa Drifts Away
Atalanta - Genoa ended 0-0 in the 35th round of Serie A, and Raffaele Palladino’s team left with little to show for a match they had more of the ball in. The draw left Atalanta on 2 points from their last 4 league matches and seven points behind Como with 3 matches remaining.
Bijlow Blocks Atalanta
Genoa were already safe before kickoff, but they still forced Atalanta to work for every opening. Vitinha had an early chance from inside the area after a pass from Colombo, and Krstovic then failed to trouble Bijlow after a run that followed work from Scamacca and De Ketelaere.
De Ketelaere came closest in the 38th minute when his left-footed shot was blocked in two stages by the Genoa goalkeeper. Eleven minutes before halftime, Scalvini also had to slide in for a clearance on a Genoa move for Ekhator, a reminder that the visitors were not just sitting back.
Raspadori Hits The Crossbar
Atalanta pushed harder after the break and created more chances, but Bijlow kept them out and Raspadori rattled the crossbar on a second-half effort. That left the home side without a goal and without the win they needed to keep any realistic climb alive from seventh place.
The point was enough for Genoa to celebrate under the away section, having taken it with minimal effort. For Atalanta, the draw sharpened the numbers: two points from four league matches, a seven-point gap to Como, and only three games left to erase it.
