Logan Stankoven became the first Carolina Hurricanes player to score in the first four playoff games in franchise history, extending a run that has carried him through the postseason and into a 12-game point streak going back to the regular season. The 23-year-old from Kamloops said it has been “awesome to contribute” as Carolina moved on after sweeping Ottawa in four games.

Stankoven keeps scoring for Carolina

Stankoven scored in each of Carolina’s first four playoff games, and that put him alone in franchise history for the opening stretch. He also said, “It’s nice to see the puck go in the net, considering all the chances I had earlier in the season and it wasn’t bouncing the right way for me.”

The right winger’s scoring has been part of a longer surge that began before the playoffs. His point streak reached 12 games going back to the regular season, giving Carolina a consistent threat as it pushed through the bracket.

Ottawa sweep and round two

Carolina entered round two after finishing off Ottawa in a four-game series, with the fourth game in Ottawa on Saturday described by Stankoven as “the craziest game I’ve been a part of.” He also said, “Honestly after the game you’re more exhausted mentally than physically just because of how much passion there was and how competitive – it was pretty physical out there.”

Stankoven added a shoutout to people back home after game three, saying, “I see it, I know there’s lots of support back home. It’s great and I can’t thank everybody enough.”

Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Game 6

Carolina was waiting on either Pittsburgh or Philadelphia in round two. Pittsburgh had climbed back from a 3-0 series deficit to make it 3-2 after Monday’s result, and game six was set for Philadelphia on Wednesday night.

Stankoven’s place in the lineup discussion also stretches beyond this spring. He is in the final year of his NHL entry-level contract and has already signed an eight-year extension worth $48 million that begins in the 2026-27 season.
