Phoenix Helps Calm Jet2.com Passenger, Earns Free Flight Vouchers
jet2.com gave free flight vouchers to an eight-year-old boy and his father after they helped calm a disruptive passenger on a Friday flight from Izmir in Turkey to Manchester. Phoenix sang, showed football cards and spoke to the woman until she settled for the rest of the three-and-a-half hour journey.

James said the woman was “almost trying to smack the stewardesses” before cabin staff moved her to a seat between him and Phoenix at his request. Phoenix then showed her football cards featuring Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, sang to her and asked about her family.
James said, “She's screaming, she's shouting, she's still being irate. And he starts singing to her, he starts talking about his football to her, talking about her family, asking her about her kids,” before adding that “the tone in her voice was coming down.”
Jet2.com vouchers for Phoenix
After the pair got off the plane, the pilot shook hands with James and Phoenix. Jet2 later thanked them for showing “the utmost compassion and kindness and care” and gave them free flight vouchers. Jet2 spokesman said, “I want to say a massive thank you to you both on behalf of everybody at Jet2.”
Phoenix said he got the confidence to calm her down from making YouTube content on football, while James said he had to confiscate the passenger’s vape when she took it to the toilet. Phoenix also reminded her that its use was banned when she complained. James said the pilot told him their intervention prevented an expensive diversion for Jet2, and the woman was taken into police custody on touchdown.
