Neil Doncaster Launches Live SPFL Play-Off Access — Spfl League Table

Every William Hill SPFL play-off match will be broadcast live for the first time, with the new spfl league table era of coverage starting through a streaming platform that sits inside the Premier Sports website and Premier Sports Player app. Fans can buy each game on a pay-per-view basis for £9.99.

Neil Doncaster and the new platform

Neil Doncaster said: "We’re really pleased to be announcing that every SPFL play-off match will be broadcast live for the first time." He added that the play-offs have delivered some of the most dramatic and memorable moments in the SPFL in recent years, and that the league has been working closely with clubs to make them available to as wide an audience as possible.

The service will stream every play-off match not already shown live by Sky Sports, Scotland or ALBA. It also brings an enhanced broadcast of games from the William Hill Championship, William Hill League 1 and Pyramid play-off competitions, including the pyramid play-off between Edinburgh City and Brora Rangers.

Scotland and Sky Sports

Some matches already have broadcast homes. The William Hill Premiership quarter-finals and semi-finals will continue to be shown live on Scotland, while the William Hill Premiership play-off final will be exclusively live on Sky Sports.

That leaves the new platform to fill the gaps across the wider play-off schedule. ALBA will continue to show exclusive live coverage of both legs of each of the William Hill Championship and William Hill League 1 play-off finals, so the service is aimed at the matches that are not already spoken for on television.

Dunfermline Athletic and Arbroath

The first Premiership play-off tie in the schedule is Dunfermline Athletic v Arbroath on Tuesday May 5, with kick-off at 7.45pm on Scotland. The second leg follows on Friday May 8, when Arbroath host Dunfermline Athletic at 7.30pm.

The path then moves into the semi-finals on Tuesday May 12 and Friday May 15, before the final first leg is scheduled for Thursday May 21 and the second leg for Monday May 25. If a club is involved in the Scottish Cup final and the William Hill Premiership play-off final, those ties move to Tuesday May 26 and Friday May 29.

For fans, the practical change is simple: the play-offs are now available live in full, with matches accessible via Premier Sports Player for £9.99 apiece. The new arrangement adds another way to follow the run-in without waiting for the television schedule to catch up.
