Saka Sparks Arsenal 3-0 Lead Over Fulham — Epl Scores

Bukayo Saka delivered a goal and an assist as epl scores put Arsenal 3-0 ahead of Fulham, marking his first start since mid-March. The 24-year-old ended an 11-game run without a goal and gave Arsenal the control they needed in a match that had already gone their way.

Saka Backs Arsenal's Lead

Saka's first contribution came when he squared for Viktor Gyokeres after beating Raul Jimenez. He then finished inside Bernd Leno’s near post after Gyokeres turned the ball around the corner for him, adding a first goal at the Emirates Stadium since early December.

Arsenal had not taken a two-goal lead in a game since March 17, when they did it in the Champions League round-of-16 tie against Bayer Leverkusen. This time the break came from a reshuffled side, with Mikel Arteta making five changes from the team that drew 1-1 in Madrid.

Arteta's Five Changes

Arteta selected Saka, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Leandro Trossard, Eberechi Eze and Riccardo Calafiori, and Lewis-Skelly made his first Arsenal start as a central midfielder. Gyokeres did the rest of the scoring, netting twice to reach 21 goals for the season and become Arsenal's first player to pass 20 in a season since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hit 29 in 2019-20.

Arteta said Saka made two actions that decided the game and added, "He certainly made a difference." He also said, "I think the pain is gone," after Saka had been managing an Achilles issue, and added that he felt loose and relaxed with "the Bukayo that we know back."

Gyokeres Reaches 21

Gyokeres' double gave Arsenal another route to goal while Saka's return provided the sharper edge they had missed. Arteta said, "He scored two great goals — position-wise, timing-wise as well, it’s something that we’ve been working on" and added, "It’s going to give him a big boost of energy and confidence to the team as well."
