Daisy Campbell Opens Pontefract’s First Reformer Pilates Studio

daisy campbell has moved from Emmerdale to a business address in Pontefract. After leaving the soap in 2024, she now runs That Pilates Place, the reformer studio she says has become her new focus.

She spent 13 years on Emmerdale after being cast as Amelia Spencer at seven. Campbell said: "It wasn’t my choice to leave Emmerdale and it was a shock at first."

That Pilates Place in Pontefract

Last August, Campbell revealed That Pilates Place on Instagram, and by April she was marking six months in business. In that same launch post, she said she had completed a level three mat and reformer pilates course over the spring and had spent the beginning of the year dealing with anxiety after losing her job last winter.

She also said: "Me and my 80-year-old grandad have been renovating this old crown court for eight weeks now and he’s taught me so much, and we’ve both worked so hard on this to get it to my dream. Every little detail is so special. So I would like to welcome you officially to Pontefract’s first reformer Pilates studio."

Six Months and a New Site

That Pilates Place later said: "WE’RE TURNING 6 MONTHS OLD. And we honestly can’t believe how quickly that’s flown by! Thank you for the most incredible first 6 months at TPP. We genuinely couldn’t have done it without you." The business has since opened a new site, putting Campbell’s shift into fitness on a wider footing than a single studio launch.

Her next public appearance comes on Sunday night at 7pm, when she joins Richard Bacon, Neil Jones and Gary Wilmot for a celebrity edition of The Chase. For Campbell, the sharper story is not the TV slot but the pace of the pivot: a former soap regular building a fitness brand in Pontefract while the old career chapter closes behind her.
