Mike Joy Calls Texas Move to FS1 on Nascar On Fox
nascar on fox is sending this Sunday’s Wurth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway to FS1, not Fox, putting the 267-lap race on the cable side of the network’s season package. For viewers who have tracked the opening months of the Cup schedule on Fox, the change marks another step toward the end of that channel’s 14-race stint.
Texas Motor Speedway on FS1
The Wurth 400 will cover 267 laps around the four-turn, 1.5-mile oval in Fort Worth, Texas. Mike Joy is in the FS1 booth with Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick, keeping the same lead voice attached to the race even as the broadcast shifts away from Fox’s main network.
Fox opened the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season with four consecutive races, beginning with the preseason Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium and followed by the first three points races at Daytona International Speedway, EchoPark Speedway, and Circuit of the Americas. After that, the next five races moved to Fox Sports 1, and Fox later came back for Kansas Speedway two weekends ago and Talladega Superspeedway one weekend ago.
Fox’s 14-race window
Three races were still left in Fox’s portion of the broadcast schedule, and all three were set for FS1. Texas comes first, then next weekend’s road course points race at Watkins Glen International, and the following weekend’s All-Star Race at Dover Motor Speedway. Dover is set to close Fox’s 14-race stretch to start the year.
The setup is part of NASCAR’s new seven-year, $7.7 billion media rights agreement, with Amazon Prime Video and TNT Sports each taking five races after Fox’s opening run. NBC is scheduled to carry the final 14 races, including the entire 10-race Chase postseason, though only four of those races are set for NBC while the other 10 move to USA Network.
Joy, Bowyer, and Harvick
Joy, Bowyer, and Harvick give FS1 the same core booth presence that has followed Fox’s Cup coverage through the early part of 2026. For fans, the practical move is simple: the Texas race is on FS1 this Sunday, and the rest of Fox’s opening slate stays on that same cable channel before the broadcast schedule turns over again after Dover.
