SalamAir Opens Kigali Sales for July 21 Route

SalamAir has opened sales for its new kigali route from Muscat, with flights set to begin on July 21 subject to regulatory approvals. The airline plans two weekly flights on Tuesday and Thursday, giving travelers a direct option between Oman and Rwanda.

Steven Allen on Kigali

Steven Allen, SalamAir's Chief Commercial Officer, said Kigali is a natural addition to the airline's growing African network. He also said, "Kigali is a natural addition to our growing African network, offering strong fundamentals across business and leisure travel."

Allen added, "Rwanda has seen consistent growth in tourism and business travel in recent years." He described Kigali as "a vibrant, modern gateway—known for its culture, markets, and historical landmarks—and it opens the door to some of Africa’s most compelling nature and eco‑tourism attractions."

Oman and Rwanda Ties

Oman and Rwanda have maintained diplomatic ties for nearly three decades, and SalamAir said the new service is expected to support increasing commercial exchange between Oman and East Africa. The airline also set one-way Lite fares from RO69.99, a concrete entry point for passengers weighing the new link against existing travel options.

The route fits SalamAir's wider network strategy of connecting Oman with high-growth markets through affordable, reliable, and direct connectivity. For travelers, the practical change is immediate: two weekly flights are now on sale, with Tuesday and Thursday departures scheduled once the route clears approval.
