Inter Milan Clinch 21st Serie A Title With 2-0 Win Over Parma

Inter Milan sealed the Serie A title with a 2-0 win over Parma at San Siro, claiming the scudetto with three games to spare. They needed only a point before kickoff, but Marcus Thuram and Henrikh Mkhitaryan turned that into a championship night. Inter are champions for the first time since 2024.

Thuram Opens The Door

Thuram broke the match in first-half stoppage time after meeting Piotr Zielinski’s defence-splitting pass. The finish gave Inter the lead they needed and left Parma chasing a result that was already slipping away.

Mkhitaryan added the second in the 80th minute, ending any remaining doubt and putting the title beyond reach. By then, Inter had already turned a tense, point-needed night into a clean championship closure.

Napoli And Milan Fall Back

Inter entered the match nine points clear of Napoli and 12 ahead of Milan. Milan had lost 2-0 at Sassuolo earlier in the day, tightening the path to the trophy before Inter even kicked off.

That margin meant the title could be sealed without waiting for the final three rounds. The result delivered Inter’s 21st Italian league championship and ended the race early, with the standings no longer able to catch them.

Chivu’s First Honour

Cristian Chivu took his first honour as a coach with the title. He had already won Serie A three times as a player at Inter, and this one arrived with the club closing out the season before the final three games.

For Inter, the 2-0 scoreline at San Siro is the season’s defining result. For Chivu, it is the first trophy on his coaching record, built on a match where Thuram’s stoppage-time finish and Mkhitaryan’s late strike settled everything.
